Preview: América Women Host Llaneros in Matchday 11 of the League

This Saturday, May 11, América hosts Llaneros on matchday 11 of the Liga Betplay 2024 at the Pascual Guerrero.

The women's team comes into this match after a 6-2 victory over Junior in Barranquilla and currently leads the championship with 25 points. Llaneros, meanwhile, had a bye last week after defeating Junior 3-0. They currently sit in fourth place with 16 points.

Our players Carolina Pineda, Gisela Robledo and Paula Escobar spoke to the media at our Cascajal Sports Complex prior to this match:

"We are very motivated by the title. We know the team we have. Every day in training we tell ourselves that we will play the way we train, and that is being reflected in every match. That 'Gisela' I wanted is coming back. I am very happy at América, and I am regaining my confidence," said striker Gisela Robledo.

For her part, Paula Escobar , a forward, referred to the good moment the team is experiencing: "We are a very tenacious, fighting and hardworking team, that's why we are at the top of the League."

"We are working and doing things right, all we need is your support," Paula pointed out.

Midfielder and captain Carolina Pineda spoke specifically about the upcoming match against Llaneros: "I think we've never been favorites; the expectations have been increasing as the championship has progressed, and that speaks to the good work we do every day. Llaneros isn't a team that surprises us; they had a very good championship last year. They've been aiming for the title, and they have excellent programs in Llaneros; they've been national champions," she explained.

Finally, the captain invited the fans to come out and support the team: "We invite you to join us. Women's football is a great opportunity to go with your families and children. It's affordable, there are many options available, and many people don't know the Pascual Guerrero Stadium, so now they can come and enjoy a great show."

For this event, there will be a discount in the west stand, allowing one woman and one child (up to 12 years old) to enter with one ticket. Similarly, there will be a discount in the south stand where the ticket holder can enter with one woman.
