Jean Pestaña was born on August 25, 1997, in Unguía, Chocó. He made his professional football debut in 2017 with Atlético Huila. He then played for Deportes Tolima, La Equidad, Águilas Doradas, and finally, Deportivo Pereira, his previous team.
In his most recent season with the Matecaña team, he played 14 matches, starting in all of them, averaging 80 minutes per game. In total, he played 1120 minutes.
