At about 5:00 pm the ball started rolling at the Nemesio Camacho El Campín stadium to kick off matchday 4 where América faced Millonarios in the nation's capital.
In the first few minutes of the match, the ambassadors started with impetus, threatening our goal, but our goalkeeper Natalia Giraldo was attentive, stopping the dangerous balls.
America continued to look for spaces to take the lead but without effectiveness; a shot from Elexa Bahr and another from Mariana Muñoz were our clearest chances in the first half.
In the second half, the opposing team again began to press for a goal with renewed determination. On a set piece, Natalia Giraldo managed to clear a powerful header from the opposing team, but on the ensuing play, just like the previous one, the goalkeeper couldn't prevent the Blues from taking the lead. In the 49th minute, on another set piece, opposing player María Aroca rose highest and headed in the only goal of the match.
The Scarlet team continued attacking, with Joemar Guarecuco trying on several occasions but failing to score. In the end, the match finished with a victory for Millonarios.
In the next match, América hosts Atlético Nacional at 2:00 pm at Pascual Guerrero, on Monday, March 24, 2025.
