Preview: América visits La Equidad in the second leg of the Cup

This Wednesday, October 2nd, América will play the second leg of the Betplay Cup against La Equidad. The Red Devils come into the match with a two-goal advantage from the first leg at Pascual Guerrero Stadium in front of their home crowd.

Regarding this match, our technical director Jorge Da Silva and player Jorge Soto spoke to the media in Cascajal about the game:

“The team is in great shape, even though we couldn't win the last match. We defended very well; we only made one mistake, and that was the only shot on goal they managed. We haven't changed what we've been doing; the team is very confident. We have a series of important matches coming up, two games in three days at altitude. We have to be mindful of players who are carrying fatigue. We have a two-goal advantage, and we're going to go for the win. We're not going to sit back and defend, trying to play it safe, because the team isn't in a position to do that,” said the coach.

For his part, the goalkeeper also gave his analysis of this match:

“We are a strong team, not only mentally but also physically, we must highlight this about each player, every footballer knows the badge he is representing.”

“We already know La Equidad, we have to take advantage of the opportunity, play on their desperation, we know we have a lot of fans on our side, protect the 0 and try to increase the difference,” Soto mentioned.

The match will be at 6:00 pm at the Metropolitano de Techo stadium.
