The scarlet team comes after beating the cardinal team 2-0, while the pijao team comes to this match after falling by the minimum difference against Melgar in the Copa Libertadores.

Our goalkeeper Jorge Soto and striker Luis Ramos spoke about this match:

“We know Tolima’s potential; they’ve been playing very well for several seasons now. They almost always play the same way; they don’t have many variations because what they do, they do very well. We know they have very solid defenses, that they’re very tenacious and very good in the air. We’ll have to look for alternatives to avoid sending in so many crosses because they’re very strong in that area. They have very fast players on the wings, and sometimes they play with two strikers. We’re waiting to see how they’ll approach this match,” said the goalkeeper.

For his part, the striker also spoke about his arrival at the Scarlet team, in addition to the match: “I have felt very good, the quality of players here helps me a lot.”

Regarding the match against Tolima, he stated: “Yesterday I was able to watch the match that the Colombian team had against Melgar, a team from my country. I watched the 90 minutes. I think it is a team that likes to play out from the back, they make mistakes when they are pressed high, these are details that one notices.”

The match between Escarlatas and Pijaos will be this Sunday, February 23rd at 8:20 pm at the Manuel Murillo Toro Stadium.
