This Saturday, September 7th, América hosts Jaguares at the Bello Horizonte stadium in the city of Villavicencio to play matchday 9 of the Colombian League.
After a 20-day break, the team led by Jorge Da Silva is back in competition, this time playing at home in Puerta del Llano.
Our Uruguayan strategist and player Jorge Soto spoke to our microphones prior to this match:
“Getting back in goal after several months is important for me; I’ve been preparing very well. I hope the training will pay off in this match for the good of the team and the result. Just because I’m a goalkeeper doesn’t mean these kinds of saves are any different; regardless of position, they affect us all equally. However, we’ve been training very well,” he said.
He also gave a brief analysis of the Montería team: “We know that Jaguares are going through a very difficult time where they haven't been able to win, they haven't been able to compete. They have good players and individual talent. We have to go out there and show our game.”
For his part, Polilla Da Silva indicated that the team's attitude on the field will be key: "América shouldn't underestimate anyone. Jaguares will be a very difficult opponent because they have a lot at stake. We must have the patience and intelligence to find a goal that allows us to have peace of mind and dominate the game."
The match will begin at 4:10 pm
