Preview: América hosts Deportivo Cali in matchday 2 of the Liga quadrangulars

América Femenino will play the second match of the Liga quadrangulars against Deportivo Cali at the Francisco Rivera Escobar stadium in the municipality of Palmira, this Thursday, June 20th at 4:00 pm

The Scarlet team started this phase on the right foot after defeating Millonarios in Bogotá by a single goal. Meanwhile, the Sugar team did the same, winning 3-1 against Llaneros.

Our technical director Daniel Mejía referred to this match: "It's a special match, it's going to be a match for the lead, Cali is always a team that presents us with a difficult match from the way they fight on the field, they play very directly looking for the goal so we will have to be very focused."

For her part, player Carolina Arias analyzed this classic match: “This game is going to be tactical, physical, and psychological because, more than a classic, it's about points that both teams want. It's going to be a very exciting match. By staggering the opponent's talented players, we can try to counter some of their game. They are players who have evolved professionally and in their game; we've seen all of that in video analysis. For now, we must focus on doing a good job as a team,” she explained.

"For this type of match, in a derby it will be very important to have a clear, calm mind and a lot of decisiveness when it comes to finishing," said our striker Mariana Zamorano.
