Preview: América hosts Deportes Tolima in matchday 4 of the Liga quadrangulars

This Thursday, June 12, América will play against Deportes Tolima in a match valid for Matchday 4 of the Liga playoffs. The Red Devils are currently second in Group A with five points.

Our technical director Jorge Da Silva and player Daniel Bocanegra spoke to the media at our Cascajal Sports Complex prior to this match.

“This has been a very tough, very evenly matched group. Every match is crucial. We have nine points left to play for, and we know our fate is in our own hands, but there are other teams playing very well. We're focused on Tolima, who are the most important team right now. Having two home games out of three is something we have to take advantage of. This matchday is going to be key because another team could enter the fight,” said our coach.

“We know that today we depend on ourselves regardless of what happens and we are going to focus on the three remaining matches to reach the final,” he pointed out.

For his part, our defender said: “Tolima is a tough opponent, but we depend solely and exclusively on ourselves. We know that the last few matches haven't been the best, but we have three finals left to achieve our goal, and we are working towards that.”

The match between Escarlatas and Pijaos will be at 6:20 pm at the Pascual Guerrero Olympic Stadium.
