America Women's team begins its journey in the quadrangulars of the 2024 Women's League this Sunday, June 16, seeking to reach the Grand Final.
On the first day, we will face Millonarios at El Campín stadium, a rival we beat by the narrowest of margins in the round-robin tournament with a standout goal from forward Paula Escobar.
Our player Gisela Robledo spoke about this match and the importance of taking care of every detail to achieve a good result.
"With the work we do every day, we're very focused on what we want; we don't want to give anything away in these playoffs. We're very happy with the support we received in Palmira, and I know we'll continue to see it because people were pleased with the team. Millonarios is a very strong opponent; we know they have very good qualities, but we're prepared for this challenge," said the striker.
Strategist Daniel Mejía analyzed the Millonarios team:
"Millonarios is a team that usually plays 4-3-3, a team that looks for a combined attack, and during the championship they have had very good results. The idea is to counter this through our game and strategically look for places to recover the ball as quickly as possible," he explained.
The match will be this Sunday, June 16th, at the Nemesio Camacho El Campín stadium at 6:00 pm. After this match, the scarlet team will be hosting Deportivo Cali in matchday 2 of the final quadrangulars.
