Preview: América visits Independiente Medellín on matchday 4 of the Liga BetPlay 2025-II.

América de Cali travels to the mountain capital to play their match against Independiente Medellín for the 4th round of the BetPlay League 2025-II quadrangulars.

The Scarlet team arrives motivated after their recent and important 2-1 victory over Independiente Medellín at Pascual Guerrero Stadium. “We managed to put much of what we had planned into practice on the field,” highlighted our coach, David González , referring to the victory achieved with goals from Jhon Tilman Palacios and Adrián Ramos.

Looking ahead to the match at the Atanasio Girardot stadium, González analyzed the key aspects of the game: “Medellín plays the same way at home and away; the only thing that changes is the intensity of the players they field. I imagine they'll try to attack more and, at the same time, might neglect their defense. The key will be executing the plan, having confidence, courage, intensity, and maintaining pressure for as long as possible. We need to work on that, but the longer we can sustain it, the greater our chances of getting a good result.”

The head coach also gave an assessment of what remains of the four-team tournament: “In the first three games we have been close to victory and we must do the same in the three that remain.”

For his part, striker Jhon Tilman Palacios also spoke about the match: “Monday will be a very tough game. We know how important it is for us to get a win in Medellín. The key will be to maintain our shape and capitalize on the chances we get.”

The match between América and Independiente Medellín will be played on Monday, December 1st at 8:00 pm at the Atanasio Girardot stadium.
