This Sunday, July 21, América de Cali visits Atlético Nacional on matchday 2 of the Betplay League 2024-II.

In the first round, the Scarlet team secured an important away victory against Águilas Doradas. Meanwhile, the Green team defeated Alianza on the road.

Our technical director Jorge Da Silva and player Harold Rivera spoke to the media ahead of this classic match that will be played at the Atanasio Girardot stadium.

"I know very well what it means to play these kinds of matches against this rival. They have been protagonists in Colombian football for many years; it's one of the great classics in this country. We take it very seriously, with a lot of confidence, always thinking about what we want to do. Hopefully, we can put that into practice on Sunday in Medellín. These are the kinds of matches you love to play," said the coach.

He added: "What we started working on from the beginning is that the team tries to play in the opponent's half, so we must apply high pressure, no matter where we play, I want the team to be far from our goal and closer to the opponent's area."

Our midfielder also spoke about what happened in the previous match where he scored his first goal in this league: "I feel we can be more consistent in our play, try to have more ball possession, control the game, and that will help us create more scoring opportunities. We're working as a team, working on that synergy so that every pass finds us with an advantage. Hopefully, we'll all be in great shape for the next match."
