PREVIEW: América visits Atlético Nacional in the first leg of the Copa Betplay final

This Thursday, December 12, América de Cali will play the first leg of the Betplay Cup final against Atlético Nacional in the city of Medellín.

Regarding this meeting, our technical director Jorge Da Silva and players Franco Leys and Harold Rivera spoke with the media at our Cascajal Sports Complex.

“We’re facing a great rival, who are in great form and will also be playing in the league final. We’re prepared to play our best and bring back a good result to decide the tie in Cali. We’re really looking forward to this match. We need our players to have a great 180 minutes,” said our coach , Da Silva.

Similarly, our midfielder Harold Rivera spoke about this commitment: “We’re already thinking about the final, a very significant final for us and for the country. We have to approach it with responsibility, professionalism, and focus. We’ll have to correct what happened during the first half of the season, but we’re already focused on this final. We know what this final means to the América fans. We want to finish the year successfully, and we won’t spare any effort to achieve it.”

Our Argentinian midfielder Franco Leys also shared his thoughts ahead of this match:

“We know Atlético Nacional will come out strong, so we’ll have to work hard and not get desperate. We have to be efficient; the key will be to work hard and counter their strengths. We know their strengths; we know their full-backs are constantly overlapping, and their wingers are very fast and effective. The details make the difference in the game,” he analyzed.

The match between Verdolagas and Rojos will begin at 7:30 pm at the Atanasio Girardot stadium in the capital of Antioquia.
