Moth, Come Home!

The time has come to write a new chapter together: Jorge Da Silva returns to América de Cali to live his second stage as technical director of the Passion of a People.

The experienced Uruguayan strategist, 62, returns to the five-time Colombian champion after almost six years to once again be the Red team's manager, in search of the sporting objectives set for the second half of the year: the BetPlay League 2024-II and the BetPlay Cup 2024.

His managerial career includes stints with teams such as Liverpool (Uruguay), Al-Nassr (Saudi Arabia), Banfield (Argentina), Peñarol (Uruguay), and Defensor Sporting (Uruguay). His last team was Muaither Sports Club in Qatar.

In his first stint as manager of the 15-time champion, Jorge Da Silva debuted on September 17, 2017, with a 3-1 victory against Atlético Huila at the Sanfernandino stadium. In total, he managed 24 matches, with a record of 9 wins, 8 draws, and 7 losses. The Uruguayan coach remained undefeated in his first 11 matches on the América bench.

As a player, Da Silva debuted with the Red Devils on August 30, 1989, scoring his first goal against Atlético Nacional at the Pascual Guerrero stadium. With 77 goals, "Polilla" is the eleventh all-time leading scorer for América de Cali, where he became an idol for his leadership and Uruguayan grit.

Alongside him will be Jorge Rodrigo Da Silva as technical assistant and Manuel Cabrera as physical trainer.

Best of luck in this new chapter, Polilla !
