Welcome! Polilla Da Silva was presented as Technical Director

On Tuesday, May 14th, Jorge Da Silva was presented at a press conference as the new head coach of América de Cali. The manager signed a one-year contract to lead the Scarlet team.

Da Silva arrived in the capital of Valle del Cauca this Sunday, May 13, where he was received by several fans who waited for him at the Alfonso Bonilla Aragón airport to welcome him to this second cycle with América.

“We believe that a figure like him, a true club legend, someone who knows the environment, is the right person to guide these players to victory, to what we want as an institution. We believe this is the way forward. We want to foster a sense of unity, not only as an institution but as a team,” said President Marcela Gómez at the start of the press conference.

“América is a team where we need to foster unity among the fans, players, and the entire environment. We need someone who has experienced it firsthand. We want someone who understands it, who knows what it's like to live in this atmosphere,” said Gómez.

“I feel the same as the first two times I came to the club, with the same happiness, now with an enormous responsibility, and even more so after what I experienced yesterday, seeing people happy about my arrival, happy about my return to the club, and that generates a great responsibility for me,” were Polilla’s first words in this second cycle as technical director of América de Cali.

“As soon as this possibility arose, I discarded everything else; my desire was to come,” the new manager of the scarlet team pointed out.

The players of América de Cali will report to the Cascajal Sports Complex this Wednesday, May 15th, to begin the tests prior to the start of the Scarlet Preseason.
