America defended their home turf and are still in the fight

On an afternoon full of emotions at the Pascual Guerrero Stadium , América de Cali showed their character and beat Deportes Tolima 4-2, achieving three crucial points to stay alive in the semifinal quadrangulars of the League.

From the outset, the Reds made it clear they were going for the win. Just three minutes in, Josen Escobar tried his luck with a shot that missed the target. As the minutes ticked by, the Reds established themselves in the opposing half, searching for the first goal of the match. Nilson Castrillón, Brayan Medina, and Franco Leys all tried without success, until the play that would change the course of the first half arrived.

In the 36th minute, Marlon Torres fouled Andrés Mosquera Guardia in the penalty area. Cristian Barrios, with the composure of a specialist, converted the penalty in the 39th minute to give the home side the lead.
