América Femenino won by a narrow margin against Atlético Bucaramanga

At approximately 2:00 pm, the ball started rolling at the Álvaro Gómez Hurtado stadium to kick off matchday 8 of the Liga Femenina Betplay Dimayor, where América visited Atlético Bucaramanga in Floridablanca.

In the first minutes of the match, America was intense in attack with very clear approaches in which our forward Joemar Guarecuco was very close to scoring but in the end, without effectiveness, the opposing goalkeeper managed to control the Scarlet options.

In the 33rd minute, Jessica Caro launched a long ball into the center of the box where Elexa Bahr appeared between the opposing defenders and headed it past the goalkeeper to score the first goal of the afternoon. The first half ended with the lead.

In the second half, the changes in the opposing team took effect and constantly threatened our goal, where Natalia Giraldo, under pressure, managed to contain every attack and keep the goal at zero, which would ultimately end the match.

Our forwards approached the Leopard goal but without effectiveness; a powerful shot from Mariana Muñoz that ended up being deflected by the opposing goalkeeper was the clearest approach of those directed by John Tierradentro in the second half.

Time ran out, and the match ended 0-1 in favor of the Red team, who secured their second consecutive league victory. These three vital points guarantee their place in the top eight.

In the next round, América Femenino will host Fortaleza in the match valid for the first day of the League, which had been postponed.
